We have to read and write daily a number of files/documents quickly that contain a plethora of data. We have to find the grain out of husks. We have to take decision out of that information. But general perception is that most of us lack adequate writing and reading skills of English to cope with the global demands. As such, almost all higher level exams contain verbal, writing and group discussion tests of different nature which requires specific skill and reasoning. If we have a top view of the different questions of English section or interview part, we will notice that test makers try to find the argumentative faculties in the test takers.

In most of competitive exam, we are tested on a passage called reading comprehension; on a paragraph called critical reasoning, and on words called sentence correction or grammar. We are also tested on analytical writing and argumentative discussion in interview. These are nothing but a form of essay. An essay encompasses all these tasks. If one knows to write analytically and to reason logically then he/she will also know to read in the same spirit. Then we will have a brief discussion on the topic of Reading Comprehension of a passage.
